Golf: What the Middle and Upper Class agree on

If you ask anyone what they’d like more of the answer is typically one of two things: more time or money. But if you had extra time or money to spend, how would you spend it? 

RYA™ can answer that question for any audience, down to 1% of the population.

Recently, we dove into two audiences defined by their household income levels - The Middle and Upper Class -  to see if how they prefer to spend their extra time and money is really that different. We defined the Middle Class as those who have a HHI of less than $150K and the Upper Class as those who have a HHI of more than $150K. The results may surprise you. 

Regardless of income levels, both audiences prefer to spend their extra time and money going on a trip, going out to eat or drink, and shopping. But what’s interesting is that compared to the general population, they both are more likely to want to spend their time watching or playing a sport, hosting and entertaining, and attending a conference or live event. 

True differences start to arise in the nuances of how they like to travel, or what they like to drink, or what type of music they listen to or events they want to attend. But one thing that brings them together is a shared passion for golf.
