This policy describes the type of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you use RYA, use our website located at RYA (askrya.com), engage with our services or when you make any purchases (collectively, the “Services”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information. Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. When you use our Services, you are consenting to the collection, use, sharing, and storage of your Personal Information as described below.

This Privacy Policy supplements and is incorporated into our Terms of Service which, together with this Privacy Policy, govern your use of the Services. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by the Services. Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meaning given to them in the Terms of Service. The terms “Episode Four” or “us” or “we” or “our” refer to Episode Four, LLC, the owner of the Services. The terms “you” or “your” refer to the user or viewer of the Services.

  • By which you may be personally identified, such as: (1) your name; (2) company name, address and other information; (3) email address; (4) phone number; (4) geographic information; (5) order and payment information; and (6) requests and other information you may offer (“Personal Information”);

  • That is non-identifiable information related to your access to our Services, including, but not limited to, your IP address, Services visits, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, and page interaction information.

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms on our Site, including but not limited to information provided at the time of registering for the Services or when you attend a virtual event or similar promotion sponsored by us;

Articles and other information shared on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content.

Further, in connection with your use of our Services, our Services may provide links to or plug-ins of non-Episode Four websites, apps and services that may be operated by companies not affiliated with us.

We expressly disclaim any and all liability for the actions of third parties. The privacy practices of any third parties are outside the scope of this Privacy Policy and their use or disclosure of your information (including your Personal Information) will be governed by their own privacy practices or policies. We may use the information we have collected from you to enable us to display advertisements to our advertisers' target audiences. Information Sharing

We do not ever sell your Personal Information for commercial purposes.

  • Contacts Directly From Episode Four.  You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can contact us to do the following:

    • See what data we have about you, if any.

    • Modify any data we have about you.

    • Delete any data we have about you.

    • Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

If you would like to access, modify, or delete your Personal Information, you may submit a request to info@ask-rya.com. Residents of certain states, such as California, Nevada, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and Utah may have additional Personal Information rights and choices. Please see the Your State’s Privacy Rights section below for more information. We will promptly review all such requests in accordance with applicable laws.

 Security


We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the Services, your information is protected both online and offline. 

Wherever we collect sensitive information, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the Web page.

The computers servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Episode Four will make its best efforts to protect your information, but Episode Four cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit to us or store on the Services, and you do so at your own risk. We also cannot guarantee that such information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of Episode Four’s physical, technical, or administrative safeguards.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act

The Services are not directed to children under 13 years old. We do not target the Services to children under 13, and we do not intentionally collect any information from users under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information through the Services. If you become aware that a child has used the Services, and we may have Personal Information about a user under 13, please contact us at info@ask-rya.com, so we may delete the information

Your State Privacy Rights

State consumer privacy laws may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our use of their Personal Information. 

Additional Disclosures for California Users

  • Shine the Light

    • Episode Four does not disclose Personal Information to third parties for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes.


  • Notice of Collection

    • In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of Personal Information enumerated in the CCPA:

      • Identifiers, including name, email address, phone number, and IP address.

      • Internet activity, including your interactions with our Site.

      • Employment and education data, including information you provide when you apply for a job with us or when you engage with the Services.

      • Inferences, including information about your interests, preferences and favorites.

      • Government-Issued Identifiers such as Social Security Numbers or passports from our individual users, prospective users, or others, who are California residents and not representatives of businesses, if and to the extent necessary to provide legal services.

  • Right to Know and Delete

    • Consumers who are California residents (and not representatives of businesses, whether those businesses are our clients or others) have the right to know certain information about our data practices in the preceding 12 months. In particular, they have the right to request the following from us:

      • The categories of Personal Information we have collected about them;

      • The categories of sources from which the Personal Information was collected;

      • The categories of Personal Information about them that we disclosed for a business purpose or sold;

      • The categories of third parties to whom the Personal Information was disclosed for a business purpose or sold; and

      • The business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling the Personal Information.

      • In addition, in certain circumstances, California consumers have the right to delete the Personal Information we have collected from them.

In the request, please specify which right you are seeking to exercise and the scope of the request. We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 days. We may require specific information from you to help us verify your identity and process your request. If we are unable to verify your identity, we may deny your requests to know or delete.

  • Authorized Agent

    • You can designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. However, we will require written proof of the agent’s permission to do so and verify your identity directly.


  • Do Not Sell My Personal Information

    • Episode Four does not sell Personal Information as the term “sell” is defined under the CCPA.


  • Right to Non-Discrimination

    • You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for the exercise of any of your rights.

Additional State Disclosures

Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah each provide their state residents with rights to:

  • Confirm whether we process their Personal Information.

  • Access and delete certain Personal Information.

  • Data portability.

  • Opt-out of personal data processing for targeted advertising and sales.

Colorado, Connecticut, and Virginia also provide their state residents with rights to:

  • Correct inaccuracies in their Personal Information, taking into account the information's nature processing purpose.

  • Opt-out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Nevada provides its residents with a limited right to opt-out of certain Personal Information sales. Residents who wish to exercise this sale opt-out rights may submit a request to this designated address: info@ask-rya.com. However, please know we do not currently sell data triggering that statute's opt-out requirements.

International Users

The Services are hosted in the United States and are intended primarily for visitors located within the United States. If you choose to use the services from outside the United States or in a jurisdiction with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from the laws of the United States, you hereby authorize and consent to the transfer of your Personal Information outside of such region and to the United States, or any other jurisdiction to be determined in Episode Four’s sole discretion, for data storage and processing purposes. 

While Episode Four does not specifically target its goods or services to individuals outside of the United States, it understands that certain Site visitors may be considered “data subjects” for whom the processing of Personal Information would normally be subject to REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) or the U.K. General Data Protection Regulation (“UK GDPR”) (each, a “Covered Person”).

While Episode Four is not subject to GDPR or the UK GDPR because it does not target its goods and services to individuals outside of the United States, it voluntarily offers Covered Persons the rights described below:

  • Right of access, rectification, erasure, and restriction of processing: The user may obtain access to the user’s Personal Information stored by Episode Four. If Episode Four processes or uses the user’s Personal Information, Episode Four shall endeavor to ensure, by implementing suitable measures, that the user’s Personal Information is accurate and up to date for the purposes for which it was collected. If the User’s Personal Information is inaccurate or incomplete, the user may obtain the rectification of such Personal Information. The user may obtain the erasure or restriction of processing of the user’s Personal Information in situations where no legitimate business purpose exists, or the further storage is unnecessary.

  • Right to data portability: The user may receive the Personal Information about such user that the user has provided to Episode Four, in a structured, commonly-used, and machine-readable format or transmit this information to another controller.

  • Right to object: The user may object, on grounds relating to the user’s particular situation, to the processing of the user’s Personal Information. To the extent the user’s Personal Information is processed for reasons other than direct marketing, the user understands and agrees that Episode Four has compelling legitimate reasons for information processing, such as providing access to Episode Four’s Services. The user may use ad-blocking software to limit information capture and usage. Making a request does not guarantee that the request will be honored.

  • Right to withdraw the user’s consent: If the user consented to the collection or processing of the user’s Personal Information, the user may withdraw the user’s consent without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

The legal bases for processing the User’s Personal Information are:

  • The User has given Episode Four consent by agreeing to Episode Four’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service and by continuing to access the Services; and
